ABOUT ME
E R W Designs was created in the mountains, and has grown from one mountain town to the next. Originally thought up whilst Emily was living in Morzine, E R W Designs has now travelled from the French Alps, to the Remarkable’s of New Zealand, and has now arrived into Fernie, Canada. Emily’s passion has always been exploring, whether out on a snowboard, or hiking trails – she’s always planning the next adventure. Her design work reflects this, and brings together a collaboration of art and outdoors.
“Feeling connected to the great outdoors is really important to me, but I love to create as well. Drawing and design have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and after my first Winter season in Morzine I felt like I needed to find a way of combing the two. I draw where I am, so everything I’ve created in Fernie, reflects this awesome little mountain town. I also love cards – more than your average person I think. So making meaningful cards, with such a tactile quality, that people can send home to loved ones whilst they’re travelling is really important to me.”
All of the papers used in Emily’s cards are up-cycled or one of a kind, found in some of the countries she’s visited on her travels, and then sewn onto recycled card and hand printed using blocks. Living locally here in Fernie, Emily continues to explore the mountains that bring her inspiration.
